Living foods are foods that are essentially raw, like pears, apples, bananas, and all other types of fruits and vegetables . It really isn’t rocket science. Focus on a raw food diet if you want more energy, eating foods that are high in energy and that leave you throughout the day with a sustained level of energy . You will always get more energy with natural whole foods, and sustained energy throughout the day, because they don’t crash your blood sugar by causing a quick surge . They also provide you will essential food enzymes, which enable great amounts of life force, better digestion, and vital nutrients which do not exist in cooked and processed foods (at least not to the same degree) .
Natural whole foods – specifically raw foods are very high source of alkalinity and that is a big reason why they give you more energy . This is important because you body – specifically your blood is alkaline and it functions as it should . This is in contrast to what most people experience in the Western world. Most Westerners’ diets are acidic in nature . They consume lots of animal products, processed foods, grains, and sugars, all of which leave an acid residue in the blood . This becomes a big problem as our blood needs to be slightly alkaline–the opposite of acidic – to perform its duties .
So how does an alkaline bloodstream give us more energy ?
Well the answer is quite simple. When our blood is alkaline our red blood cells are able to flow freely and deliver oxygen to the cells within our body . When this happens as it should, then we are in state whereby our body produces energy almost effortlessly . It is almost like driving at 3 AM on the highway – when there is very little to no traffic . Conversely, our red blood cells clump together and don’t flow freely throughout the body when the blood is acidic . As a result, our cells do not get the oxygen they require to produce energy . This is the physiological fundamental reason why you can feel either energetic or lethargic . So focus on eating an alkaline-rich diet if you want to improve your energy. very simply this means adding more vegetables and fruits in their raw state into your body, a raw food diet.
So here are a couple examples to help you out… Water
Most people are lethargic, tired, and have headaches because they’re dehydrated . A general rule of thumb is to drink half your body weight in pounds, in ounces. So if you weigh 180 pounds, you would drink 90 ounces of water per day. This is ideal in a resting state – if you’re exercising you’ll need more water.
And that leads me to my next recommendation… Eat more of a raw food diet. Raw foods, as we mentioned previously, are water-rich . This is because the foods have not lost their water due to the process of cooking . And instead of worrying every day about how much water you should be drinking if you simply add more vegetables and fruits into your diet you will automatically get all the water your body needs . Making fresh juices or smoothies is a simple way of doing this . So here is a favorite smoothie recipe that is sure to energize you at any point of the day :
1 banana
1 Apple
1 pear
1 head of Boston or romaine lettuce
1/2 a handful of parsley
the juice of ½ a lime
2 to 3 cups of water- Simply blend all ingredients together in a blender and enjoy.
